Lesson Overview

1.15 – Crisis Survival When You’re the “Problem Kid”: Being labeled the “problem kid” can make you feel hopeless, as if no one expects better from you. But labels describe behavior, not identity. When you start believing you’re trouble, it becomes harder to see growth. Reframing starts by asking, “What am I really trying to express?” Most outbursts come from unmet needs like safety or belonging. Learning new coping skills—walking away, breathing, or writing—builds control that surprises people who doubted you. Apologizing when you’re wrong shows maturity, not weakness. Seek mentors who see beyond your reputation and remind you of your potential. Every small success rewrites your story from “problem” to “progress.” Over time, you realize that being misunderstood once doesn’t define who you’ll become tomorrow.
