Lesson Overview

1.95 – How to Calm Down Without Support: When alone, become your own first responder. Start with grounding through temperature—splash cool water, grip an ice cube, or wrap warmth around shoulders. Next, engage rhythmic movement: rocking, pacing, tapping. Speak reassurance aloud even if it feels forced. Write or draw sensations to externalize turmoil. Replace “I’m alone” with “I’m here for myself.” Self-soothing isn’t weakness—it’s self-leadership. After calm returns, evaluate triggers and adjust environment. Document success to build confidence for next episode. Over time, solitude transforms from threat to training ground for internal trust, proving that self-care can be as effective as external rescue.
