Lesson Overview

1.28 – How to Keep Yourself From Doing Something You Regret: Regret usually follows the moments when impulse wins over intention. To prevent that, practice slowing down the space between feeling and doing. When you feel pressure to act fast, pause—count backward from ten, step outside, or hold something cold to ground yourself. Regret fades when reflection replaces reaction. Imagine your choices as doors; not every one needs to be opened immediately. Ask yourself, “What will this look like tomorrow?” That simple thought can save friendships, jobs, and even self-respect. Keeping a note on your phone that says “Pause first” can serve as a lifeline during heated moments. Choosing not to act is still an action—it’s self-leadership. The strength you build from restraint becomes a shield that keeps your future safe from your current storm.
