Lesson Overview

1.44 – Making a Plan for the Nights You Can’t Sleep: Restless nights amplify worry because silence magnifies thought noise. Build a calm-night plan ahead of time. Prepare dim lighting, soft playlists, and comforting scents. When sleep resists, avoid screens; write thoughts on paper to empty mind storage. Practice breathing rhythms—four seconds in, six out—to lower heart rate. Gentle stretches or warm drinks cue relaxation. If still awake, shift goal from sleep to rest; lying still counts. Anxiety lessens when pressure to sleep fades. Keep a small mantra repeating “I’m safe right now.” When morning comes, daylight resets circadian rhythm naturally. Consistent practice teaches body that night equals repair, not threat. Control over bedtime habits restores peace hour by hour until rest feels safe again.
