1.24 – Who to Text When You’re Not Okay: Knowing who to text when you’re not okay can save your life on hard nights. Make a small list of people who answer with understanding, not judgment. Label them by comfort level—friend, mentor, counselor, or hotline—and keep it accessible. Start with a simple message like “Can you talk?” or even a single emoji if words fail. If no one replies, keep reaching out; your worth doesn’t vanish because of silence. Try crisis text lines or online support communities designed to respond fast. Sometimes typing your thoughts out helps you process even before anyone answers. The key is not bottling it up until it breaks you. When you find people who stay calm while you unravel, those are your anchors. Over time, you’ll realize reaching out isn’t weakness—it’s how connection builds safety one message at a time.
