Lesson Overview

1.9 – Journaling to Interrupt Crisis Spirals: Writing is one of the fastest ways to slow down a racing mind and regain perspective. Journaling during or after a crisis helps you transfer swirling thoughts from your head onto paper, turning confusion into clarity. Start by describing what happened, what you felt, and what you need right now. The goal is not perfect writing but emotional release. Seeing your words helps separate temporary feelings from lasting truths. It also exposes thinking traps like “I can’t handle this,” allowing you to rewrite them into calmer statements. Journaling gives your emotions shape, which makes them less overwhelming. It also becomes a record of progress, proof that you have survived other storms before. Even two minutes of writing can break a spiral and bring logic back online. Over time, it becomes your private space to process, reflect, and rebuild emotional control. The pen becomes both a pressure valve and a compass toward steady ground.
