Lesson Overview

1.10 – How to Teach Your Child That Crisis Isn't Their Fault: After crises, many children blame themselves for what went wrong. Parents can prevent long-term guilt by naming the truth clearly: adults handle responsibility, not kids. Reassure them that no argument, grade, or behavior caused the emergency. Repeat it often until belief replaces doubt. Use calm tones, soft eyes, and touch to make the message real. When a child sees compassion instead of blame, healing begins. Encourage questions and answer with honesty, even when it’s uncomfortable. Over time, this helps your child separate events from identity. They learn that love doesn’t depend on performance and that safety can exist even after chaos. That understanding becomes emotional armor for future hardships.
