Lesson Overview

1.10 – What to Do When You Hate the Way You Feel: Hating your emotions can trap you in a cycle where shame fuels more pain. Start by remembering that feelings are messages, not punishments. Ask, “What is this emotion trying to tell me?” Maybe sadness asks for rest, or anger asks for fairness. Instead of labeling emotions as bad, label them as signals. Move your body while naming them aloud — it turns internal storms into manageable waves. When you stop fighting every feeling, energy that went into resistance turns into recovery. Sometimes feelings you hate are evidence you still care deeply. Allow that to mean you’re alive, not flawed. Self-compassion is the medicine harsh emotions fear most. Whisper to yourself what you’d say to a friend feeling this way. Your emotional honesty is strength, not weakness. The moment you stop hating your feelings, healing quietly begins its work.
