Lesson Overview

1.18 – Coping With Emotional Pain That Feels Physical: Intense emotions can translate into real aches—tight chest, nausea, shaking hands. Your body is telling the story your mouth can’t yet speak. Start with grounding through physical relief: stretch slowly, sip water, press your palm to your heartbeat. Name each sensation aloud to regain control. Then pair movement with gentle breathing until muscles release their grip. Acknowledge that physical pain from emotion is valid; mind and body share signals. Avoid numbing with harmful choices; choose comfort tools like warm showers or blankets. Write or cry when safe; both release trapped energy. Remind yourself pain waves peak and fade, never permanent. When intensity lowers, rest and hydrate. Healing emotional pain means treating your body kindly during translation. Compassion to your own flesh becomes medicine your heart can finally absorb.
