Lesson Overview

1.5 – Recognizing Unsafe People or Spaces: Recognizing unsafe people or spaces means learning to read signals before danger escalates. Unsafe people often test your boundaries with small invasions—unwanted touching, manipulative words, or ignoring your “no.” Unsafe spaces might feel tense, chaotic, or poorly controlled. Your body gives early warnings—tight stomach, racing heart, or sudden discomfort—trust those feelings as data, not drama. Pay attention to patterns, not excuses; if someone repeatedly disrespects your comfort, it’s a red flag. Environments where violence, gossip, or pressure thrive can erode your sense of safety over time. Always plan an exit route, whether physical or social, and keep someone informed of where you are. Practicing awareness doesn’t mean judging everyone; it means honoring your intuition and limits. Safe people bring calm, not confusion, and safe spaces help you breathe easier. The more you trust what your senses tell you, the faster you can act to protect yourself.
