Lesson Overview

1.88 – When to Disengage from Provoking People: Provokers feed on reaction; disengagement denies them currency. Recognize manipulation early—tone baiting, exaggerated claims, forced urgency. Pause, breathe, and reply minimally or not at all. Announce boundary once: “I won’t discuss this further.” Then physically or digitally step away. Avoid explaining absence; silence speaks authority. Document interactions if risk exists. Focus energy on grounding activities afterward to cleanse residual agitation. Each non-response retrains impulse toward restraint. Over time, provocations lose power because access requires your attention, not theirs. Disengagement is mastery through selective participation—a controlled silence that safeguards mental equity.
