Lesson Overview

1.11 – When You Don’t Trust Anyone in Your House: Not trusting people under the same roof can make every sound feel like a threat and every silence feel heavier. Start by giving yourself permission to trust your instincts—your feelings exist to protect you, not embarrass you. Create a personal zone where you can breathe freely, even if it’s just your bed, your playlist, or a small notebook. Remind yourself that privacy doesn’t equal secrecy; it’s a way to stay emotionally safe. If you can, build small boundaries that don’t invite conflict—keeping your door open during tense times, staying in shared spaces when possible, or using calming routines like journaling before bed. Reach out quietly to a school counselor or adult outside your home who can help you sort real danger from emotional overwhelm. When you stop expecting trust to appear overnight and instead focus on protecting your peace, you begin to feel stronger within your own walls. Your safety is not measured by how others act—it’s measured by how you respond to protect your calm.
