Lesson Overview

1.32 – Coping With Sudden Bursts of Rage: Sudden fury surprises even calm people. When it strikes, pause before reacting—rage lasts seconds, consequences last years. Step away physically; distance saves relationships. Breathe until your jaw unclenches and heartbeat steadies. Channel adrenaline through movement—run, squeeze a stress ball, punch air, or count backward. When calm, identify what triggered the flare: fear, disrespect, exhaustion, hunger. Understanding root causes prevents repetition. Write frustrations privately; paper absorbs heat better than words hurled at others. Remember, rage masks pain; investigate the pain underneath. Apologize if harm occurred, but don’t drown in guilt—repair through changed behavior. Over time, anger managed with awareness becomes passion redirected toward justice and strength, proving fire can warm instead of burn when handled consciously.
