Lesson Overview

1.6 – Creating a “Safe Zone” in Your Room: Your room can become a quiet zone that tells your body, “Here, I can breathe.” Choose one corner that feels calm and decorate it with comfort — a soft blanket, photos, gentle lights, or things that remind you of peace. Keep sensory tools nearby, like a fidget toy, journal, or calming scent, to ground your senses when stress builds. Make sure the area feels private but not isolating — safety grows from calm, not hiding. You can use your safe zone for deep breathing, reflection, or just resting after tense moments. Having one reliable space means your brain learns there’s always a retreat ready, even if the world outside feels uncertain. The more you practice going there when upset, the faster your body links that spot to comfort. Over time, the peace you build in one corner begins to follow you everywhere.
