Lesson Overview

1.2 – Planning for When You’re Too Angry to Speak: When words disappear because anger takes over, it helps to have a personal plan already mapped out. Write down three calm phrases you can use like tools—“I need space,” “Let’s talk later,” or “I can’t right now.” Keep them visible on your phone or notebook so you don’t have to think when your brain feels scrambled. Anger makes your heart pound and your thoughts blur, but planning gives you control before the storm hits. Step away, breathe through your nose, and move your body until your heartbeat slows. Music or cold water can reset your system and remind you that silence can be strength, not weakness. When you’re ready, use your notes to express what you meant, not just what you felt. Over time, this builds trust because people see your effort to stay respectful even when upset. The more often you practice calm exits, the faster your brain learns that pausing protects peace better than shouting ever could.
