Lesson Overview

1.5 – What to Do When You Feel Like a Burden: The fear of being a burden grows from believing your needs take up too much space. That thought is a distortion, not truth. People who care about you want to help even when they don’t always show it perfectly. Start by noticing what you contribute — your humor, patience, creativity, or quiet reliability. Burdens drain; you give back. When self-doubt whispers that everyone would be better off without you, challenge it: “If that were true, why would I still be here?” The answer is because you still have impact left. You are not weight; you are part of balance. Instead of apologizing for existing, practice thanking people for their patience — it turns guilt into gratitude. Remember that asking for help gives others purpose too. You are not extra baggage; you are someone still learning where to set your own light down.
