1.33 – How to Stay Safe When Adults Are Fighting: When adults fight, it can make your heart race and your stomach twist. The noise might make you feel like you have to choose sides or step in—but safety always comes first. Move to a room with a door you can close or to a quiet space outside if possible. Avoid hallways where arguments travel loudest. Keep younger siblings near and distract them with calm voices or simple games. If things sound violent, call for help—never assume it will just stop. You are not responsible for adult arguments, even if they involve people you love. Afterward, find a way to talk about how you feel with someone trustworthy. Keeping fear bottled up can make it grow. Your safety and peace matter more than trying to fix a fight that’s not yours to solve.
