1.4 – Crisis Planning When You Have No Help With the Baby: Parenting without support during crisis requires structure and self-compassion. Begin by preparing micro-plans for predictable triggers—feeding delays, sleepless nights, or sudden panic. Keep essential numbers saved on speed dial, such as crisis lines, neighbors, or pediatric contacts. Create a small “calm kit”: water, snack, wipes, and a comfort item for the child, plus grounding reminders for you. Designate one safe room where you can breathe without hazards. Post calming steps on the wall—“pause, breathe, check safety, reset.” If anxiety rises, hold the baby securely on your chest and focus on heartbeat rhythm; it synchronizes calm. When resources are limited, emotional routine replaces external help. Accept that doing less is survival, not failure. Record short affirmations on your phone reminding you that both of you are safe and loved. Having no help doesn’t mean having no power—it means building safety from inside outward.
