Lesson Overview

1.36 – What to Do When the Panic Hits Out of Nowhere: Panic attacks appear suddenly—heart pounding, chest tight, mind spinning—and convince you danger is near when it’s not. Remember: panic can’t harm you; it’s adrenaline misfiring. Anchor through breath—inhale four counts, exhale six. Name what you see: three colors, two sounds, one texture. This redirects focus from fear to present. Loosen muscles, unclench jaw, let shoulders drop. Avoid fighting panic; let it pass like a wave. Remind yourself it always peaks and fades within minutes. If possible, tell someone nearby for reassurance. Afterward, rest; recovery drains energy. Track triggers in a journal—caffeine, lack of sleep, stress—and adjust habits. With repetition, panic loses mystery and power. Calm becomes muscle memory. You’re not broken; your body is learning safety again, one breath at a time.
