1.4 – Surviving a Crisis in Silence: Some crises can’t be spoken about right away, especially when fear or shame blocks your words. Silence might feel protective, but it also traps pain inside, making it grow heavier over time. Finding ways to express feelings—through drawing, movement, or journaling—keeps them from turning into numbness. Even whispering your truth to yourself is a start. When trust feels risky, start small: acknowledge what happened in your own words without judgment. Safety builds as you practice self-compassion and patience. You’re allowed to move at your own pace while still reaching toward light. Silence doesn’t mean weakness; it’s a survival tool until you’re ready to speak. The goal isn’t to rush disclosure but to avoid isolation. Healing begins when your silence feels like choice, not prison, and your inner voice grows louder than your fear.
