Lesson Overview

1.9 – Planning for Escape and Exit: Planning for escape and exit means thinking through worst-case scenarios long before they happen so your body can move without hesitation. Choose at least two exits in every space you frequent—home, school, or workplace—and practice how to reach them quickly. Keep keys and essentials in consistent, easy-to-grab spots. Memorize routes that avoid bottlenecks or unsafe areas. If leaving isn’t possible, plan where you could hide or signal for help safely. Make sure others you trust know your signals or code words for distress. Visualizing escape reduces panic because your brain recognizes the pattern when danger arises. Avoid confrontation if leaving is safer. Preparation doesn’t invite fear; it builds freedom. When your mind and body know exactly what to do, courage replaces confusion. Every escape plan is a promise to yourself that your life is worth protecting and that you are ready to act on it.
