Lesson Overview

1.39 – Getting Through the Next 60 Minutes: When crisis feels endless, shrink the timeline to survive the hour. Set a timer for sixty minutes and focus only on completion of that block. Break tasks into micro-steps—drink water, breathe five counts, text one safe person, rest eyes. Hour-based thinking restores control by limiting mental projection. Each completed minute becomes proof of endurance. If emotions spike, reset the clock; repetition builds momentum. Avoid future-based thoughts like “I can’t handle tomorrow.” Replace with “I’m handling now.” The body follows mental direction. Short horizons protect against despair by keeping focus measurable. After surviving one hour, plan the next—recovery is built minute by minute. Crisis loses power when measured in present increments, converting survival from marathon to manageable rhythm.
