1.7 – How to Use Your Voice During a Crisis: Using your voice during a crisis is one of the strongest tools you have to stay safe and assert control. The tone, volume, and words you choose can either defuse tension or attract the right kind of help. Practice steady, confident speech even when you feel afraid; short, clear sentences like “I need help now” carry power. Avoid shouting in panic—speak loud enough to be heard but calm enough to sound organized. Your goal is communication, not confrontation. If dealing with a threatening person, keep your words factual, not emotional. When calling for emergency help, clearly state your location, the danger, and any urgent medical needs. Rehearse what you’d say so your mind doesn’t freeze under stress. Your voice can open doors to safety—literally and emotionally. Speaking up early often stops harm before it grows. In moments of chaos, your words become your anchor.
