Lesson Overview

1.37 – Coping With a Sudden Flood of Emotions: Sometimes feelings rush in faster than your brain can name them—joy, sadness, anger, fear blending all at once. Instead of resisting, imagine emotions as waves passing through, not staying forever. Ground yourself through movement or sensation—walk, squeeze a stress ball, or hum softly. Label what you can, even if it’s just “overwhelmed.” The act of naming starts regulation. If tears come, let them; release is repair. Avoid acting on impulse; clarity returns after calm. Reflect later through writing or voice notes to trace patterns. These floods often signal deep healing—your body unloading stored tension. Over time, practice meeting them with curiosity, not panic. Each wave teaches emotional tolerance. You don’t drown; you surf through awareness. Every storm survived strengthens emotional balance, proving that big feelings don’t break you—they remind you you’re alive.
