Lesson Overview

1.13 – What to Do When You’re Scared of Losing Control: The fear of losing control feels like being trapped inside your own body while your emotions drive too fast. You might worry you’ll scream, throw things, or say something impossible to take back. The moment you feel that panic build, focus on slowing time down. Press your feet flat on the floor, notice your breath, and count each inhale until your heartbeat steadies. Tension wants movement, so find safe outlets—run in place, squeeze a towel, or write every thought until your hand hurts less than your chest. Remember that control isn’t about being emotionless; it’s about channeling your energy before it chooses for you. Visualize a stoplight: red for pause, yellow for breathe, green for respond. That mental image builds patience into your reaction. When you choose calm over chaos, even once, your brain learns that you have more power than your impulses.
