🧘🏽 Emotional Regulation & Coping Skills *coming soon *coming soon
Course overview
Lesson Overview

1.301 – Managing personal anger when a parent openly criticizes your partner: Anger can rise fast when someone you love is attacked by family. It helps to first notice your body’s reaction before words take over. Breathing slowly and grounding yourself keeps control within your reach. Try separating your feelings of protection from your need to respond. Remind yourself that criticism often reflects the parent’s fears, not your partner’s worth. Choose calm phrasing like “I see that differently” instead of defensive tones. Protecting both relationships means keeping respect even when emotions spike. Practice empathy for your parent’s mindset while still defending healthy boundaries. After the moment passes, talk with your partner to reassure them of your loyalty. Strength grows from managing heat without adding fire.
