🧘🏽 Emotional Regulation & Coping Skills *coming soon *coming soon
Course overview
Lesson Overview

4.12 – The Link Between Regret and Anxiety: Regret looks back, while anxiety looks forward—but they often feed each other. When we dwell on the past, our minds fear repeating mistakes in the future. This creates a loop of worry and self-doubt. Regret says, “I shouldn’t have,” while anxiety says, “What if I do again?” Understanding this link helps break their cycle. Calm reflection reduces both emotions because clarity replaces fear. Breathing techniques or grounding exercises remind the mind that you’re safe now. Regret and anxiety lose strength when balanced with acceptance and planning. Both emotions want protection, but they need reassurance more than control. The more present we become, the weaker their hold becomes.
