Lesson Overview

8.48 – How to Support Others Experiencing Shame: Supporting someone through shame means offering understanding, not solutions. Listen gently and avoid minimizing their feelings. Let them know they’re not alone or broken. Simple validation can be more healing than advice. Remind them that their emotions are normal and that everyone struggles with shame. Avoid trying to “fix” them—just be present. Encourage self-compassion and honesty without pressure. When people feel safe to share, their healing begins naturally. Your empathy and patience can help them find hope again. Sometimes the greatest gift you can give is to remind them they are worthy just as they are.
