Lesson Overview

31.46 – Teaching Children to Be Resilient: Teaching children resilience starts with showing them that mistakes are part of learning, not signs of failure. Kids build strength when they see adults handle problems calmly and keep trying. Encouraging them to solve small challenges on their own helps them grow confidence. Praise effort more than perfection so they learn that persistence matters most. When children talk about their feelings, listen and validate without judgment. Teach them that it’s okay to feel sad, scared, or frustrated—what matters is how they handle those emotions. Helping them practice problem-solving and self-soothing gives them lifelong tools. Building routines and stability also helps them feel safe enough to take risks. Resilient children become adaptable, confident adults who believe they can overcome challenges. When kids see resilience modeled daily, it becomes part of who they are.
