Lesson Overview

7.11 – Practicing Assertive, Not Aggressive, Communication: Assertive communication means expressing your needs clearly while respecting others. It’s calm, honest, and firm without yelling or blaming. You can use phrases like “I feel frustrated when…” or “I need a break so I can respond calmly.” This shows maturity and self-control. Assertiveness keeps conversations productive and prevents guilt or regret later. It teaches others how to treat you respectfully while keeping peace. With practice, assertive speaking replaces angry reactions. You protect both your boundaries and your relationships. True strength shows in calm, confident communication—not in shouting the loudest.
