Course overview
Lesson Overview

4.14 – How Cultural Expectations Shape Regret: Culture quietly teaches us what success and failure should look like. When we don’t meet those standards, regret can grow stronger. Some cultures value achievement; others value family duty or sacrifice. These beliefs can make people feel regret even when they did their best. Understanding where expectations come from helps loosen their grip. You may find that your regret belongs more to society than to your heart. Reflecting on your own values allows you to define success differently. When we live by personal truth, regret turns into alignment. Comparing yourself to cultural ideals often leads to unnecessary guilt. True peace comes from honoring who you are, not what others expect.
