35.5 – Recognizing When Boundaries Are Missing: When boundaries are missing, life can start to feel chaotic or unbalanced. You might notice yourself saying yes too often, even when you feel tired or uncomfortable. You might struggle to speak up when someone crosses a line. Without boundaries, you may feel anxious, resentful, or drained after spending time with certain people. You could find yourself trying to fix problems that aren’t yours to solve. Sometimes, the signs show up in your body—like tension, headaches, or feeling exhausted for no clear reason. Emotional confusion can grow because you take on other people’s feelings as your own. You might also fear conflict so much that you avoid it, even when you’re being mistreated. Missing boundaries can make you doubt your worth or question your right to feel safe. The more you ignore those signals, the more overwhelmed you become. Recognizing that pattern is the first step toward change. Once you see where the gaps are, you can start building limits that restore peace. Every small “no” you say strengthens your sense of control. Boundaries are not about shutting people out but keeping yourself whole.
