Lesson Overview

9.7 – Survivor’s Guilt and Its Impact: Survivor’s guilt happens when you live through something others didn’t, and you feel undeserving of being okay. It can appear after accidents, illness, or tragic events. You might question why you were spared and others were not. That question can eat away at joy and hope. But survival doesn’t mean you did something wrong—it means you have a chance to honor life. Guilt may feel like respect for those lost, but true respect comes from living fully. Healing means understanding that your survival carries purpose, not blame. You can turn that guilt into gratitude and action that helps others. Over time, survivor’s guilt can soften into appreciation for the life you still have. Living well becomes a quiet way to say thank you for the chance to continue.
