Lesson Overview

8.25 – The Cycle of Shame and Withdrawal: Shame often creates a painful loop of isolation. You feel ashamed, so you pull away, and the distance makes you feel even worse. This withdrawal can make it seem like no one would understand or accept you. But hiding only feeds the cycle. Reaching out, even when uncomfortable, begins to break it. Connection is the antidote to shame—it reminds you that you’re not alone. When you share what you’re going through, understanding replaces judgment. Small steps like sending a message or meeting someone for coffee can start healing. The more you stay engaged with others, the weaker shame’s voice becomes. Healing begins when you choose connection over hiding, one moment at a time.
