Lesson Overview

29.12 – The Role of Childhood Experiences in Fear: Many fears in adulthood trace back to early life experiences. A child who grew up around yelling, punishment, or unpredictability may carry those reactions into adulthood. The brain remembers what once felt unsafe and stays on guard. Even when the danger is long gone, those feelings can resurface during stress. Understanding how childhood shapes fear helps us break generational cycles of anxiety. It allows us to re-parent ourselves with kindness and patience. Healing doesn’t mean blaming the past but learning from it. When we comfort the younger parts of ourselves, we teach our brain that safety exists now. This process strengthens emotional resilience. By understanding our history, we create a calmer future.
