🧘🏽 Emotional Regulation & Coping Skills *coming soon *coming soon
Course overview
Lesson Overview

13.30 – The Cycle of Depression and Procrastination: Depression slows thinking and drains motivation, making even simple tasks feel impossible. When things are delayed, guilt builds up, which increases sadness and deepens procrastination. This creates a self-feeding cycle that feels endless. The mind says “I’ll do it later,” but later becomes heavier each time. Breaking the cycle starts with understanding that avoidance isn’t laziness—it’s exhaustion. Choosing one small, doable action re-engages momentum. Completing even the tiniest step signals to the brain that progress is possible again. Rewarding small wins helps rebuild motivation and trust in yourself. Tools like timers, accountability partners, or setting gentle routines make tasks less overwhelming. Over time, each action chips away at the mountain of avoidance. Depression may whisper that effort won’t matter, but every completed step is proof that it does. Slowly, motion returns, energy grows, and the cycle begins to reverse toward confidence and relief.
