36.19 – How Betrayal Triggers Anger and Grief: Betrayal stirs anger because it feels like an injustice that strikes at your core. It’s natural to feel rage toward the person who caused harm and frustration toward yourself for trusting them. Yet beneath that anger lies grief—the mourning of what was lost: safety, connection, and peace. Grief from betrayal doesn’t always involve a person’s death but the death of who you thought they were. The two emotions—anger and sadness—often come in cycles, one fueling the other. Processing them means giving space to both, not suppressing one to appear strong. Anger shows your boundaries were crossed; grief shows your heart still cares. Together, they point toward healing when channeled with awareness. Expressing these emotions safely, through journaling, therapy, or physical release, helps prevent bitterness from taking root. Over time, anger cools and grief softens, leaving behind strength and understanding. Feeling both is not weakness—it’s part of reclaiming your emotional balance.
