Lesson Overview

8.28 – The Role of Comparison in Shame: Comparing yourself to others can make shame grow like a shadow. It tells you that you’re behind, not enough, or less than everyone else. Social media, work, or friendships can make these comparisons constant. Shame uses comparison to convince you that your value depends on how you measure up. But no one’s life is the full story you see on the surface. Everyone struggles, even those who seem confident. When you focus on your own progress instead of others’ paths, you begin to feel lighter. Gratitude and self-acceptance weaken shame’s voice. Every person’s journey is unique, and so is your worth. You don’t need to compete to matter—you already do.
