Lesson Overview

14.1 – Understanding What Stress Really Is: Stress is your body’s natural alarm system, built to help you respond to challenges and changes. It’s what gives you the push to act fast when you face a problem or deadline. A little stress can sharpen your focus, make you more alert, and even help you grow stronger. But too much stress for too long can start to wear you down. It can cause tension in your body, racing thoughts, or irritability that feels hard to control. Understanding stress means seeing it as a signal, not an enemy. It’s your mind and body saying, “Something needs attention.” When you learn to listen to that signal instead of ignoring it, you start to take back control. Stress isn’t only about emotions—it affects your heartbeat, muscles, and even digestion. Everyone feels stress differently, and that’s okay. Knowing how it shows up for you helps you recognize it faster. With awareness, stress becomes something you can manage rather than something that controls you. The goal isn’t to erase stress—it’s to respond to it in a way that keeps you balanced and strong.
