The longer you carry it, the heavier it becomes, affecting your mood and your health. It can make you mistrust others and push away people who care. When you release resentment, you give yourself permission to heal. You begin to breathe easier and see life with new eyes. Forgiveness is the moment you decide that you deserve peace more than you need payback. It’s not forgetting what happened—it’s choosing not to let it poison your present. Your emotions become lighter when you stop feeding your pain and start feeding your peace.
