Lesson Overview

37.41 – Building Self-Compassion to Love Others Better: Loving yourself with understanding and patience allows you to love others more fully. Self-compassion means treating yourself kindly when you make mistakes, just as you would treat a friend. It quiets harsh self-criticism and builds emotional balance. People who practice self-compassion are less defensive and more open in relationships. It helps them forgive and empathize without losing boundaries. When you accept your own imperfections, you become more accepting of others’. Self-compassion also strengthens resilience, so love feels stable instead of fragile. It reduces fear of rejection because self-worth no longer depends on others’ approval. Loving yourself doesn’t limit love—it expands it. When your heart is gentle with itself, it can hold others with more warmth, patience, and authenticity.
