Lesson Overview

7.20 – Using Music to Soothe Panic Episodes: Music can reach parts of the brain that words can’t. When panic rises, the right song can slow your heartbeat and shift your focus. Soft rhythms or familiar melodies remind your body of comfort and safety. Humming or singing along adds steady breathing to the mix. Creating a calm playlist beforehand makes it easier to use when distress hits. Music connects emotion and rhythm, guiding your body back into balance. It’s also a reminder that peaceful moments are still possible. The more you use music for regulation, the stronger that association becomes. Over time, even the first notes can bring comfort and calm.
