Lesson Overview

3.23 – The Pain of Unacknowledged or Dismissed Loss: When others downplay your pain, it can make grief even harder to bear. Being told to “move on” or “get over it” invalidates real emotion. Everyone deserves to have their loss recognized. Unacknowledged grief often hides and grows heavier over time. Finding someone who truly listens helps lift that weight. You can honor your own pain even if others don’t understand it. Writing, speaking, or creating art about your experience gives it voice. Validation is powerful—it tells your heart that your feelings matter. Healing begins when your story is heard, even if only by yourself. Respecting your own grief is the first act of self-compassion.
