🧘🏽 Emotional Regulation & Coping Skills *coming soon *coming soon
Course overview
Lesson Overview

3.1 – What Makes a Coping Skill Healthy or Unhealthy?: A coping skill is healthy when it helps you calm down, think clearly, and solve problems without creating more harm. Deep breathing, walking, or journaling can bring balance back to your body and mind. Unhealthy coping might feel good at first but causes damage over time, like yelling, shutting down, or using substances. The difference often lies in the long-term effects—does it help you recover or avoid what’s real? Healthy coping teaches your brain to manage emotions, not escape them. The goal is not to erase stress but to move through it safely. When you find tools that work, you can bounce back faster. Testing and reflecting help you build your personal list of healthy responses. Over time, they become natural parts of how you live and grow.
