1.02 – When You Feel Like Picking Up a Gun: Crisis Thought Intervention: When anger and pain mix, your brain can make dangerous suggestions that don’t match who you really are. These thoughts aren’t instructions—they’re alarms saying you need help now. Crisis thoughts often appear when you feel trapped or unseen. The key is learning to pause before acting. Breathing, stepping away, or calling someone safe interrupts the pattern. Talking to a counselor or crisis line doesn’t make you weak—it keeps you alive to find another way. When your emotions feel louder than reason, you can still choose a second of space before reacting. That second can save your life and others’. Every time you reach for help instead of harm, you rewrite your story with strength. You matter, even when your pain lies to you. There is always another move besides violence—always.
