23.06 – What to Do When You’re Not Being Heard: When people dismiss your words, the first step is not to shout louder—it’s to ground yourself and restate calmly. Feeling unheard is frustrating, but losing composure often blocks progress. Pause, breathe, and gather facts before repeating your point in a different way. Ask if there’s a better time or place to talk; sometimes emotions, not content, cause resistance. Listening to the other person first can also reopen their willingness to hear you. If your message still isn’t acknowledged, document what was said or bring a supportive witness for clarity. Remember that being firm is not the same as being rude; persistence is self-respect in action. When you maintain steady composure, others notice your credibility. Over time, consistency earns more influence than volume ever could.
