Lesson Overview

7.06 – Religion, Spirituality, and Mental Health: Faith can bring peace or pressure depending on how it’s taught and practiced. Spirituality looks different for everyone—it can be prayer, meditation, nature, or quiet reflection. When used kindly, it strengthens hope and helps you find meaning during hard times. But when used as control or guilt, it can harm your self-worth. The healthiest belief systems support compassion and growth, not fear or shame. Balancing faith and mental health means allowing yourself to question, rest, and interpret beliefs in ways that uplift you. Your connection to something greater should make you feel supported, not trapped. Sometimes people need space to heal from spiritual trauma, and that’s valid. You can honor your roots while choosing what aligns with your peace. True spirituality connects you to purpose, empathy, and inner calm.
