Lesson Overview

28.31 – What to Do When You Hate Old Photos of Yourself: Looking back at old pictures can trigger embarrassment because you remember insecurity, awkwardness, or pain. But those images captured survival, not shame. Every past version of you carried lessons that built the present one. Instead of deleting history, try thanking it. Say, “That was me learning.” Growth means forgiving the stages that got you here. When you reframe old photos as evidence of resilience, they lose their sting and gain meaning. You might even start to feel compassion for that younger self who was doing their best with what they knew. Confidence expands when you stop cringing at evolution and start honoring it. Those snapshots prove you’ve kept going, changing, and healing—and that’s something worth admiring deeply.
