Lesson Overview

30.35 – When Depression and Self-Harm Go Together: Depression and self-harm often feed each other — sadness fuels the urge, and the act deepens sadness. Breaking that cycle means interrupting one link at a time. Depression tells you nothing matters; self-harm tries to make you feel something. But neither voice speaks truth. Challenge the thought that pain is the only outlet. Replace it with movement, light, or connection, even when your brain insists it’s useless. Depression dulls hope, but action reignites it slowly. The first attempts may feel fake, but healing doesn’t require belief, only repetition. Seek professional support for both the mood and the behavior; treating one helps calm the other. You are not your diagnosis or your scars — you are the person learning how to rise despite them both.
