27.27 – When You’re the Only One in Your Friend Group Grieving: Grief can make you feel like an outsider in your own circle. While friends laugh about daily things, you carry a sadness they can’t see or understand. It’s lonely realizing conversations that once felt easy now feel foreign. People might care but not know what to say, leaving gaps that silence fills. You don’t need to match their mood to belong; your feelings deserve room too. It helps to find at least one person—teacher, counselor, relative—who listens without pressure. Over time, some friends may grow more comfortable around your grief as they see your honesty instead of avoidance. Sharing small truths, like “today’s a hard day,” teaches them how to show up better. You’re not broken for grieving differently; you’re just walking a road they haven’t traveled yet. True friendship can stretch enough to hold both laughter and loss without either being diminished.
